The Department of Economics at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar College-Affiliated to the University of Kalyani and provides NEP 2020 programs in Economics Major and Economics Minor. The department adheres to the curriculum provided by the University of Kalyani. Although this is an undergraduate department with limited opportunities for intensive research, we emphasize the necessity of acquiring research orientation and logical analysis. Students are encouraged to work on dissertation projects during their final semester to improve their research skills. Extension and outreach events are held on a regular basis to promote a sense of responsibility for the community. Our add-on courses are created with a focus on environmental awareness, sustainability, and research technique, ensuring that our students are well-versed in these critical areas, allowing them to achieve their career goals while also becoming responsible citizens of India.Our students consistently obtain remarkable outcomes in university tests, demonstrating the high educational standards we strive to maintain. The department organizes a number of events throughout the year, including World Environment Day and freshers' welcome and goodbye programs to build a strong feeling of community and tradition. Students are also encouraged to engage in Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations, as well as extracurricular activities and competitions such as poster making and debates. all of which help them improve their talents and extend their perspectives. Students are encouraged to plan a variety of programs in a sustainable manner. Our students excelled in a variety of fields, making us proud of their accomplishments.
