About the Department
The department has very high reputation in every sphere of the field of geography. The department has very
high reputation in every sphere of the field of geography and other co-curricular activities. A good number of alumni of
this department have become luminaries in their respective fields of teaching,researches, banking and administration. All
the teaching and non-teaching members of our department are sincerely engaged in the teaching learning process, the teachers
are always available for Guidance to the students and encourage them for their future prospects. Admission to 1st year
Honours course is strictly on the basis of merit. Each year there are a large number of applicants to pursue for Honours
course in this department. Besides teaching, the Department organizes class wise seminar, Special Lectures, group discussion,
Excursion, field study and workshop.
The students can express their geographical knowledge through their writing in the wall Magazines and model
making and teachers guide them properly in this regard. Above all, the faculty members are always ready to render all possible
assistance and guidance to students within and outside the campus as and when required. All the faculty members and students
share a cordial bond with each other.
